Microsoft Teams is used in many companies around the world and the Teams application developed by Microsoft is also used on many RealWear devices.
The Collaborate app was created by RealWear and Microsoft to make the user interface even clearer and to provide even more functionalities in a shorter space of time. This is developed by RealWear itself and has numerous advantages over the standard Microsoft Teams app:
- Zoom option: you can now also zoom live into video calls
- Live streaming in video calls with thermal camera
- Shared devices can also be used without a Teams login
The functionalities are constantly being expanded, and the next update is already planned for mid-March 2025.
Things that won’t change for you as a Teams user:
- Your login details for MS Teams and the Collaborate app are the same
- Full access to all your contacts and calendar entries
Shared Device Mode
In addition to the classic login option, the Collaborate app also offers a shared device mode. Alternatively, a 5-digit code is displayed when the app is started. The desktop PC user only needs this free plugin from Microsoft Appsource to enter the code and is already in the video call. The end user only has to accept the call and they are in a Teams call with the requested contact without having to log in.
